Tarini is a sociologist with over eight years of experience in participatory research and equity-oriented evaluation, focusing on programmes shaped by local knowledge. Her work spans engagement with de-notified and nomadic tribes, sanitation workers, child labour and survivor-led initiatives, alongside research on climate adaptation and agriculture in the Indian Himalayan Region. She has also co-designed Sindhanai, a Global South-led initiative aimed at embedding evaluation within collectivisation processes.
