Shramana is a trained sociologist and development practitioner currently working at the intersection of mental health and homelessness in Chennai, having spent five happy years living and working amongst the Adivasis of rural Chhattisgarh. She is drawn to how people make sense of suffering, care, and healing in their own words rather than in clinical categories, and writes with the ongoing suspicion that no amount of research fully explains anyone's distress, least of all her own.
